2009 Study Abroad
Grants
The 2008 (for travel in 2009) grant round has been
completed and congratulations are extended to the 7 successful
applicants, who will be studying in Japan, China, Chile,
Indonesia and Mexico..
Visiting Fellow at The
University of Melbourne
The inaugural Walter Mangold Visiting Scholar Professor
WU HUAINAN of Nanjing University, PRC has now completed his
term in mid 2008.
The Fund was delighted to have such a distinguished academic as
Professor Wu as its inaugural Visiting Fellow.
In conjunction with The University of Melbourne the Visiting
Fellow for 2009 has been selected and details are being finalised .
An announcement is expected to be made in late January 2009.
Overseas Students Studying in Australia
The 7 students from Timor-Leste who came to Melbourne have
completed or are in the process of completing their intensive
English language courses and the study of Australian culture at
Taylors College/Embassy CES.
The success of this pilot program has prompted the The Fund to
repeat the program in 2009.
AIIA VIC
the Fund has approved 3 projects to further the aims of AIIA
Vic, and these projects will commence in early 2009.
