2010 GRANTS

Two of the Trustees travelled to Dili at the end of March 2010 to conduct interviews of and assess 24 candidates from Dili and other areas of Timor who were considered for scholarships.The quality of applicants was high and it was a difficult decision to determine who should be offered a scholarship.

We were delighted to be able to offer scholarships to eight (8) of the candidates, all of whom have accepted. They will be undertaking either 21 or 31 weeks of intensive english -  7 in Melbourne and 1 in Ballarat.

Six of our students arrived on 18 June and have settled in to Melbourne and commenced their courses. A seventh arrived on 2 July and is now undertaking his course in Ballarat, and our eighth student is due to arrive at the end of August. 

We congratulate the successful candidates on their determination to come to Australia to undertake a difficult course in a strange environment and wish them every success.

2009 GRANTS

In 2009 seven Timor Leste students were funded to study in Australia .

6 studied in Melbourne and 1 in Sydney.

All students have completed their courses and returned to Timor-Leste. We congratulate them for their achievements and wish them well in their studies, their future careers and their contributions to Timor Leste society generally
